Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 12, 2025

1. Introduction

BravoResume (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at bravoresume.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, password (stored as a salted hash — we never see or store your plaintext password), and optionally your full name.

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Anonymous accounts

You can start using BravoResume without creating an account. We create a temporary anonymous session so you can build a resume immediately. Anonymous sessions are identified by a randomly generated user ID — no personal information is required. If you later create an account, your anonymous data (resumes and purchases) is transferred to your new account.

Resume content

We store the content you enter into the resume editor — including your name, contact details, work history, education, skills, and any other information you choose to include. This content is stored so you can access, edit, and export your resumes.

Payment information

Template purchases are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full credit card number. Stripe provides us with a transaction ID, the email address associated with the payment, and the purchased template identifier. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.

Automatically collected information

When you use the Service we may collect standard web analytics data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring URL. This data helps us understand how people use BravoResume and improve the experience.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To authenticate you and secure your account
  • To store and display your resume content
  • To process template purchases
  • To transfer anonymous data to your account when you sign up
  • To send transactional emails (e.g., email confirmation, password reset)
  • To respond to support requests
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not use your resume content to train AI models, and we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate BravoResume:

  • Supabase — authentication, database hosting, and file storage. Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database with row-level security, meaning only you can access your own data through the API. Supabase Privacy Policy
  • Stripe — payment processing for template purchases. Stripe Privacy Policy
  • Google — optional OAuth sign-in. Google Privacy Policy
  • Netlify — website hosting and delivery. Netlify Privacy Policy

We do not share your personal data with any other third parties except as required by law.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage for the following purposes:

  • Authentication — Supabase sets session cookies to keep you signed in across visits
  • Preferences — We may store UI preferences (e.g., editor panel sizes) in local storage

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption)
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage
  • Database access is protected by row-level security — each user can only access their own data
  • Administrative database access is restricted to service-role keys stored as environment variables
  • Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data retention

We retain your account and resume data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

Anonymous account data that is not converted to a full account may be automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — Update or correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Export — Download your resume data as a PDF at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below.

9. Children's privacy

BravoResume is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
